you will also need a bowl.step 1: put the tuna in the bowl,
you will also need a bowl.
step 1: put the tuna in the bowl,
and dice it.
step 2: put some cottage cheese in there
and mix that in
step 3: add mayo and mustard. a roughly 2:1 mustard to mayo ratio is ideal.
mix that in too.
now get your cheese and a knife with which to cut it
and cut that cheese (har har fart joke) into 4 thick slices, or however much fits properly on the bread of your choosing. When it melts it'll spread out, so leaving some room between the cheese and the crust is a good idea.
set the cheese slices aside and spread some margarine on one side of each bread slice.
put the bread slices in the pan, margarine side down. This helps the bread to toast on that side so it's not all floppy later.
Now put the tuna on the bread.
I find that one can's worth of mixture is just about the perfect quantity for 2 slices of bread, with none left over.
put the cheese slices on top and gently press them down with your hand.
Now preheat the oven to 450 degrees F."Now wait, Jarbl," you're saying. "Shouldn't you preheat the oven first?" Well, you can if you want...

Well, you can if you want...
... but my oven has a 15 minute preheat timer, which is exactly the amount of time this takes to cook. So I just start the oven, and the preheat timer starts counting down...
...and I put my AWESOME TUNA MELT to be inside it.
a little less than 15 minutes later, the oven beeps, and we're all done.
Delicious.
Holy shit, I want one : (Vericode: 'covetion', as in I am filled with 'covetion' over that sandwich
